DL Hughley Reminds Us Why We Teach

Kevin Jarrett posted this video on Facebook and I immediately knew that I had to pass it along to all of you. In this very short video comedian DL Hughley thanks his 5th grade teacher and reminds us all why we teach.

If you're viewing this in RSS you will need to click through to see the video.

Here are two other excellent videos about what teachers can do.

Thanks Richard for posting these videos. We watched Dalton Sherman on our first inservice day last year. He is truly inspirational. I had also been sent the Taylor Mali video by a friend last year. The DL Hughley video was new to me. Thanks to you and Kevin Jarrett for sharing that one. All three have been added to my collection of inspiring teacher videos.

Taylor Mali is exceptional. He has a couple of other videos on You Tube as well.

Dalton is an incredible speaker. We watched this video in a training. I had my laptop and did some research while it was playing.

Here's a link to the Dallas Morning News: http://tinyurl.com/5c757a

Here's a quote from the near the end of the article:

"School district officials contacted the family last May about giving the convocation speech for teachers. Dallas ISD officials wrote it."

It's a great speech and it's well delievered. However, all the credit doesn't go to Dalton.

This is a great argument for hand helds, netbooks or laptops in the classrooms for students to doing this type of research.

WOW! That's the world. I'm glad I managed to see these videos today as we are back to school tomorrow and I have such gems to share with my colleagues and hopefully inspire them the way I have been inspired.

I love how these videos show how teachers can make a difference. I like posting videos of passionate performers on my teaching blog Learning to Teach PE Like A Rockstar (http://rockstarpe.blogspot.com/)
