SafeShare.tv is a new service that makes it possible to view YouTube videos without displaying the related videos and associated comments. This could be a particularly useful tool for anyone publicly showing a YouTube clip. To use SafeShare.tv simply copy the url of a YouTube video and paste it into SafeShare.tv. SafeShare is very similar to Quietube which I reviewed last winter.
Here's what SafeShare.tv looks like in action.
Applications for Education
If you're fortunate enough to work in a school that allows you to use YouTube videos, SafeShare.tv could be a very handy little tool. If you don't want to run the risk of your students seeing inappropriate "related videos" or inappropriate comments, use SafeShare.tv and eliminate those possibilities.
If your school doesn't allow you to use YouTube, try one of these 30+ Alternatives to YouTube.

Hi Richard,
The other method to remove comments (and easier for teachers) is to simply use YouTube XL mode - which was designed for people who use their PC as a TV.
It is especially good if you're going to show a YouTube video on an interactive whiteboard.
It's at www.youtube.com/xl
And finally (quick commercial plug!) the new version of PowerPoint 2010 coming will allow you to embed a YouTube video straight into your PPT presentation, which probably makes it easier/safer still for many teachers
