At the 140 Character Conference in Los Angeles last month, Parentella hosted a discussion panel with four educators that are in my PLN. During the panel discussion these four educators discussed how Twitter is changing education. The video is embedded below. Thanks to Beth Still for sharing the video.

When I first learned about Twitter, it seemed like an obnoxious way for celebrities or xenophobic people to share "what they had for breakfast" or other very banal details of their life with the rest of the world. I didn't think there was educational benefit. But after watching the video I see that twitter might be that "key" to unlocking the door that is preventing them from connecting to students, parents and community.
Twitter is a great way of keeping in touch with e-learners. For example, it's possible to get quick feedback as part of dissertation supervisions.
Thank you for posting this and to Beth for creating an embedded video! This just made my week! :-)
Twitter has changed my life in the world of education. I've been an educator for 28 years and I've grown professionally, exponentially, since I've developed my PLN, particularly through Twitter. I am turned on to unbelievable educational tools daily, and am, constantly, thinking about ways to improve the way we educate children. I cannot believe the amount of professional growth I've experienced in such a short time. (I've only been using Twitter for about 6 months.) I'm, always, looking to improve my PLN, so if you'd like to follow me, I'm foes4sports on Twitter.
I love my Twitter friends. It's like having a group of 800+ research assistants all working together to answer each other's questions.
