Earlier this week I published a list of 11 Techy Things for Teachers To Try This Year. As promised at the end of that post, I have created a free how-to guide for the things I listed. The 58 page guide embedded below is intended as quick-start guide for teachers who want to try something new in the 2010-2011 school year. The guide is a available as a free download.
How to Do 11 Techy Things in the New School Year
Whenever I publish a guide like this, people ask if they can print it or embed it into their own sites. The short answer is yes, just give proper attribution to Free Technology for Teachers.

Finally! Better Comment Control On Blogger
Earlier this week Google quietly rolled-out an improved system for handling comments on Blogger blogs. Blogger (owned by Google) now places new comments into one of two categories when they are received. Those categories are "awaiting moderation" and "spam." You can review the comments and choose to reject or publish them. Google also introduced, finally, an easy way to go back and view all comments on your posts. The new "comments inbox," located under the new comments tab, shows the comments you've published and provides a direct link to the post on which the comment was published. This should make it much easier to respond to comments left on older posts that haven't been on the front page of your blog for a while. Read more about these new comment options on the Blogger Buzz Blog and on the Blogger Help Page.
