Adam Truitt (aka @moutainteacher) recently contacted me with an epublication that I think will be handy for school administrators. 21st Century Walkthrough is a ten page guide to using Google Docs Forms and an iPhone or iPod Touch to record and analyze school or classroom walkthrough data. The guide provides directions with screen images for setting up a form, setting up your iPhone, and analyzing the data collected.

Just a couple weeks ago I helped a principal set up a Google Voice account for walk-throughs. She could step out in the hall, while the walk-through is fresh and call a number on her cell phone. She then leaves herself a voice mail of what she observes and her voice is converted to text. Then the text is emailed to herself and she forwards the email to the teacher. The voice to text is not 100% so she has to make corrections either in her native email application or on her phone before she sends it to the teacher.
