Open Chemistry - Free Content for Teaching Chemistry

Open Chemistry is a new website built to share resources for teaching and learning Chemistry. The site is new and doesn't have a lot of content yet, but the content it does have is good. The most useful content on Open Chemistry are the videos and 3D molecule models. I've embedded one of the videos below. If you're a Chemistry teacher you may want to consider subscribing the Open Chemistry RSS feed to keep up the latest updates.

Flashcard Flash - Search for Flashcard Sets

Flashcard Flash is a handy little search engine designed for one purpose, helping you find sets of flashcards. Flashcard Flash was built using Google Custom Search. Flashcard Flash searches six different flashcard services including Flashcard DB, Quizlet, and Study Stack all of which I've previously reviewed and found to be excellent services.

Applications for Education
Flashcard Flash is a good service to try when you don't have the time to build a set flashcards. Students can use the service to find flashcards that will help them prepare for a test.

William Vann's EduPic Graphical Resource

William Vann's EduPic Graphical Resource provides free photographs and drawings for teachers and students to use in their classrooms. Mr. Vann is an amateur photograph (a good one at that) and a teacher. Mr. Vann gives permission to teachers and students to use the images in any manner needed for instructional and learning purposes.

The design of the EduPic Graphical Resource makes it easy to quickly find the image you need. The science category contains particularly good photos and drawings.

Applications for Education
Finding copyright free images can sometimes be challenging for teachers and students. William Vann's EduPic Graphical Resource is a great resource for students to use when they are creating digital presentations because Mr. Vann has removed that restriction for teachers and students.
