10 Good Videos About Flu Prevention

The US Department of Health and Human Services recently held a contest for people to create public service announcements about influenza prevention. The ten finalists have been selected and the voting for the top video is now open. You can see all ten of the finalist videos on Department of Health and Human Service's YouTube channel. I've embedded one of the videos below.

Applications for Education
These videos about flu awareness are a great way to spread the message to students and parents about the things they can do to stay healthy and prevent the spread of illnesses in their schools.

I particularly like this video, the H1N1 rap.

Learn To Be Healthy - Free Lesson Plans

Learn to be Healthy offers free high quality health education lesson plans for elementary school, middle school, and high school teachers to use in their classrooms. The lesson plans cover topics in nutrition, exercise, dental care, mental health, and the dangers of drug use. The lesson plans include the use of online interactive activities and offline in-class activities with reproducible hand-outs.

Applications for Education
What I really like about the lesson plans on Learn to be Healthy is that there is a good mix of online activities and offline in-class activities. This mix gives students the chance to explore and learn on their own as well as providing students with a chance to interact with their teacher and classmates.
