Learnist Now Allows You to Register With Email

Learnist, which I've described in the past as Pinterest for learning, announced today that you no longer have to use Facebook or Twitter to register and use their service. You can now register for and use Learnist with an email account. The service is still available only to people who request a beta invite, but it seems that beta invites come quickly.

Applications for Education
One of the obstacles to use of Learnist in schools was the requirement of logging-in using Facebook or Twitter account. The new option to register with an email address should make Learnist available to many more teachers and students. Learnist provides another professional learning community in which you collaborate on the collation of resources that are beneficial to you and your students.

Learnist Launches iPad and iPhone Apps

This service is no longer available.

Back in May I wrote about Learnist being "Pinterest for Learning." I still think that's a fair assessment of what Learnist offers to educators. It's a way to visually bookmark and share lesson plans and other educational resources. Today, Learnist released an iPad app and an iPhone app.
The Learnist iPad and iPhone apps allow you to create boards, browse boards, and share your favorite resources.

Watch the short video below to learn more about what Learnist offers.

Learnist is Like Pinterest for Learning

Learnist is a new site (still in beta) that aims to be like Pinterest but for sharing learning resources. On Learnist you can create pinboards of materials organized around a topic. You can create multiple boards within your account and make your boards collaborative. You can pin images, videos, and text to your boards by using the Leanist bookmarklet, by manually entering the URL of a resource, or by uploading materials to your boards. Take a look at the video below for a brief introduction to Learnist.

Applications for Education
Learnist is still in a closed beta period so you will have to apply for an invitation (I got mine in a few days). Once you're in you can start following members of your professional learning community and collaborating on the collation of resources that are beneficial to you and your students.
