Earlier this week Kahoot launched a new featured called Kahoot Studio. Studio is a curated collection of math games made by Kahoot and aligned to Common Core standards. In the future Kahoot will be adding games for other subjects.
I received a couple of emails from readers looking for more information about Kahoot Studio. In particular, one person wanted to know if she could modify the math games in the Kahoot Studio. Yes, you can modify the games. In the video embedded below I demonstrate how to find the new Kahoot math games and how to modify them.

Math Trail - Map Based Math Trivia Challenges
Math Trail from HeyMath! is a series of map based math trivia challenges. Math Trail offers six thematic games. Each game follows a trail of locations that students have to find by using the clues provided. If they get stumped they can click "show location" but they lose the point value for the question. When they arrive at the correction location students have to answer the multiple choice math question presented to them before moving on to the next question in the trail.
Applications for Education
Math Trail provides a nice blend of geography questions and math questions appropriate for 5th to 7th grade students. You could create your a similar game yourself through Google Maps.

Make Your Own PBS Cyberchase SMART Board Game Show

If you would like to make your own game for your SMART Board, check out the PBS Kids Lucky Star Game Show template. The template contains 150 questions that can be used to create games. One of the activities that you can develop using the template is a "game show" featuring your students' favorite Cyberchase characters.

Math vs. Zombies is a free iPad game with a Halloween theme. The game is has three virtual worlds each containing ten levels of basic math problems. The object of the game is to correctly solve as many math problems as possible before the zombies catch you. The math of the game is basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

A+ Click - Mathematics Games for All Grades
A+ Click is a free site full of online mathematics games for students at all grade levels. You can find games on A+ Click by selecting a grade level then selecting a topic. Alternatively, you select just a topic or just a grade level and browse through all of the games. Students do not need to register in order to play the games.
Applications for Education
If you're looking for some good practice activities for your students to use at home, A+ Click could be a good site to link to your classroom blog. Students receive instant feedback on every question. When students answer enough questions correctly they are asked if they want to move up to the harder level or stay at the same level.
